To Binh: If you want to HAVE FUN in those 4 years, I don't recommend Colby cuz they virtually don't have social life. I spent 5 weeks on Colby campus in a summer program. It's very green and beautiful but boring!
What do you expect from a liberal arts college in the summer? :-/ The students are gone, no activities on campus. Moreover, you were in just a summer program. I believe that most schools are boring in the summer, or even the semester if you don't "get out of the box". Make careful judment please
Well, I was totally aware that it was only summer time and there weren't many students. I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my comment. What I referred to is more Waterville than Colby itself.
If you smoke, drink or use drugs, there'll often be a bunch of parties on campus you can go to

. But if you don't, I don't think you can do much in the town.
We were given a Waterville map at the beginning to see what we could do. The nearest movie theatre shows
one movie at a time /

. You may have to go to Augusta - about an hour drive - to have more choices. I went to a so-called Teen Dance at some point and what people did was not dancing but kissing :kiss2: , smoking :smoking: and drinking :beerchug: at the same time. We were bored so we left the dance to walk around but all the shops were closed

(It was only 10-11 pm). Even if they had been open, I doubt that we could have had much fun shopping anyways.
I also talked to some Colby students staying on campus during the summer and they all think Colby is quite isolated.
So it's just my own opinion about Waterville (the town of Colby). If you can drive a bit farther, I guess you can find cool stuff. Otherwise, you can shop at K-mart, Walmart or eat out at McDonald, Subway... or some Chinese, Thai restaurants. If any of you attend Colby, I recommend Pad Thai. It's a very delicious and spicy! Yummy! =P~
