how nice, I've never ever seen any native english speaking person (American, English, Australian ...) using "viet" for vietnamese, or asking me if I'm "viet", given that they've been speaking English since .... you know ... when they were born.
It's not too important, but I myself, dont like using "Vietnamese" as viet. remember, "I'm not viet, I'm Vietnamese"
Just one advice for DangHienHoa: If you use slangs too much, you may forget what the formal one is. for talking, chatting, noone care, but if you wanna go further than that, you'll get trouble. Dont abuse them
btw, you should look at who you are talking to, in order to know how you should talk. It isnt a nice way using "vietnamese-overseas-english" to talk to Vietnamese or "learning pure english people" though.
