To all Hanoi-Amsterdam students and alumni currently living in Vietnam or abroad: As you may know, we are developing E-HAO - the English version of our school's website. We are looking for people who are fluent in English and eager to contribute their part to Hanoi-Amsterdam HS and HAO by volunteering to be a writer for E-HAO. You can either write about your own topic of choice (provided it is connected to HN-Ams, school and social life, the Vietnamese education system, Hanoi, Vietnam,...) or let us assign a writing task. We also need people willing to translate part of our data base into English.. If you are interested, contact us at:

Hong Nhung: [email protected]
or Thu Hang : [email protected]
or Dam Linh: [email protected]

1. No whining scraps allowed

2. No Vietnamese additive to your writing, I mean you don't have to show how patriotic or stylish or however you are by scattering Vietnamese words all over your writing.

:D Well, are you terrified? If so, don't send anything to me. Many thanks:p.

What do I have to do if I join Linh? My English might be not good enough:D but I might wanna give it a try:D

Write about 100 words in Vietnamese, download some translation program, copy & paste, press the Enter button, copy & paste again & send to Nhung or Hằng. You're done. =D>

Any incentive?
Show me three and I'll join.
Show me none and I'll try to find some myself (like being able to have Dam Linh issue direct orders to me) and then join.
Let me know what I can do. [email protected]

Dearest Hoang Long,

Free lodging at Conn during Fall break ;;)

:D

Seriously, we need someone to write an introduction of HAO including detailed description of major boards.

Who wants to go to New London (where tf is it? next to New Paris???) for Fall Break :D
However, ok then, that's only one though.
btw, I'm not going to be in the US for da BREAK.

Nice idea!

Not sure what I can contribute yet, but this might be a good way to brush up my English before it slips my brain

Maybe you guys could send me ur drafts, and I'll help with editing?

HM

Wow, I see all the bright faces here, cool!!!.

Nhung, hope you'll give me a list of those who join the E-crew soon, so we can start.

Here's a demo, if anyone care:

Could you please spare a little time to contact our chair-girl Nhung for formal instruction. Because my role is supervising, i.e. strolling around making making fun of you-know-who :p

Ok, :| <=== straight face. You can start with revise this introduction:

Bear in mind that yours will be appear at the pront page, so make it concise and moderate :D

Due to the volume of inquiries about our school from foreign institutions and individuals, the web administrators have decided to put up an English version of Hanoi-Amsterdam's school website, HAO: E-HAO.

The original version of HAO is centered on the discussion forum, which currently features .. sub-forums with over .. topics. It is at present the most active part of the website. - The English version of HAO will be designed to be more informative for its members and foreigners seeking to learn about Hanoi-Amsterdam High School and its students. Of course, basic features of HAO will be kept: the photo album, the news, the magazine, the board ..

In the future, we plan to extend the site to include introductions to the Vietnamese school system, the City of Hanoi, Vietnam, etc. etc.

This site is still under construction. As it is a huge project, we intend to complete the site piece by piece. Please, feel free to contribute any comments, suggestions,.. in our discussion section.

Have fun exploring the site. Before you leave, don't forget to sign in in our guestbook!

Well, we all know it's a masterpiece of writing :D, but some great changes do no harm :p, and hurt none's pride.

This is an typical example of im-moderation and lengthy:
Due to the rightful desire to extend the administrative power, we have volunteered under force to develop this English-version forum, mirrored from HAO, ...

Mr. Admin does not read between the lines but trod on the lines. I quit, baby.

Wow, chiến dịch có nhiều anh hùng quá ta!

Hey um..., I'd be honored to contribute whatever I can contribute with the best of my best to eHAO. But right now Ms. Linh's words and Mr. Long's comments have confused me quite a bit. Would some one please state clearly what we should be prepared for to do the jobs? Just writing about topics and hunting for news? Is this like a site-maintenance kind of work?

It's great to see the E-HAO running again.
well, I think we can start this by writing all the emotions, experiences, whatever we think of when living faraway from home. It doesn't need to be an essay, right?
I think of this topic as I encounter so many new, surprising things when arrving in the US.. really want to share with you all coz here I have no one else to share.. :((

I'm confused. What do I have to write about? Anything? But if it's what Huong said, I think I can do it. Anyway, I'll try my best.

I am glad to see so many of you are willing to contribute to the development of HAO. Now, as most (or all) of us should be busy with school, time allocation will be a major hindrance :( I will be posting the planned structure of E-HAO presently, but there are parts that may require regular updates (eg. news, selected posts, etc.) . So, if you think you can handle them, let me know so that I can include them.

Yeah! It will so nice if HAO has an English version. I think we can creat these several topics:
1. The latest news about our members'lives.
2. The writing center _ essays or pieces of writing that you want to be edited.
3. The conference - you want to discuss about something
And I will start with the conference . The first topic can be about the first experience when arriving in a new environment. OK?
SO I WILL START IT!
Please support E-HAO!

First things to do is to officially organize a team to develop E-HAO, and ofcourse, all others still can constribute. This team will discuss on how to develop the site, and in charge of updating (and writing) for the site.

I did talk to Nhung about this, but it seems like Nhung's getting busy, so I hope you guys can help her out.

Afterthat, we need to decide how the site's structure would be.

The site shouldnot be too different from the Vietnamese one (HAO-4 - which will be realeased on Oct. 10, if nothing goes wrong).

The present structure of HAO is mainly centered on the discussion boards, which will be impossible for E-HAO to sustain as we, well, lack the necessary "human resources" :")
I hope that we can turn E-HAO into an informative site, which will represent our school and its student body (favorably) to Vietnamese people as well as foreigners. The site will consist mostly of articles written or translated by team members or associates to be categorized into different topics, such as Hanoi-Vietnam, Hanoi-Ams HS, HAO, history, memories, education.. whatever you can think of :p
I just came up with an idea for the first article: "Hanoi/Hanoi-Ams in pictures" - I imagine it as a picture galery with comments on the pictures and their significance. A possibility to make the article more "inclusive" is to allow people to add their own pictures and stories to the picture-base. Who can help me realize this?
So, I hope this post will help generate a shower of ideas :p and get this project started.
