Học bổng 100% cho sinh viên đại học tại KAIST~o) cái này thì nó gọi là blind-need mà.

Chết quên mất, mình lại lấy cái topic chuối quá8-} , sợ mọi người lại tưởng quảng cáo thì chết.


Từ mùa xuân năm 2007, để thúc đẩy tính toàn cầu hóa, KAIST chính thức tuyển sinh viên nước ngoài cho chương trình đại học. Trong kỳ tuyển sinh mùa xuân năm 2007, đã có 16 sinh viên Việt Nam được nhận vào học ở đây( tự nhiên được chọn, do số trời:-?? ), và có thêm 1 bạn gái( sorry, ở KAIST đang cần amsers, còn lại toàn tổng hợp sư phạm thôi, chú thích bạn này học tổng hợp toán) được nhận cho kỳ học mùa thu 2007 sắp tới.

Các ngành được dạy tại đại học ở KAIST là các ngành khoa học, công nghệ (Bachelor of Science) và cả Business Economics. Tất cả các lớp học của sinh viên đại học được dạy bằng tiếng Anh( nói chung ở đây là Anh Mỹ hết, có thấy bóng hồng nhan nào từ Anh sang đâu, toàn mẽo). Có cơ hội được đi học exchange (thường là năm thứ 2, 3 trong kỳ hè) tại các trường đại học bậc nhất tại Mỹ, Anh như MIT, UCLA, etc.

Thông tin tóm tắt:
- Số lượng sinh viên quốc tế được cấp học bổng là 50( kì bọn minh đựoc nhận có được 42 bạn). Học 100% bằng tiếng Anh.
- Học bổng là: 100% miễn học phí và ăn phí, trọ phí, không có tiêu vặt phí à nha (gồm 15,000USD/năm + 2,000USD/năm Parent Trust Fund = 17,000USD/năm)
+ Được cấp 300,000KRW (khoảng hơn 300USD) để ăn ở( đấy là đứa tay trắng đi cũng sống đươc, mà còn mua được cả Xnote, ipod và nếu dư thì mang về sài), 2,400,000KRW (hơn 2400USD) cho năm đầu tiên để cho chi phí ban đầu (vé máy bay, etc). Yên tâm, học bổng này thừa khối.;;)


Điều kiện:
- Có bằng tốt nghiệp phổ thông trung học loại khá giỏi, giỏi toán, tiếng Anh.
- Có bằng TOEFL hoặc IELTS, hoặc có khả năng nghe nói đọc viết tiếng Anh thành thạo, đủ để học bằng Tiếng Anh . Theo kinh nghiệm qua 2 đợt tuyển sinh thì khoảng 550 TOEFL, IELTS is ok


( theo minh ấy, điểm như thế chỉ có 30% cơ hội thôi, điểm khoảng 600 là có thể có khả năng rồi. Hôm trước gặp ông admission team, ông ấy còn kêu là đứa nào có Sat thì cơ hội rất cao 8-} )

- Ưu tiên sinh viên đại học kỳ thứ 1 và 2, các học sinh phổ thông có các thành tích xuất sắc như đạt giải thi quốc gia. ( trường mình thì bọn có giải nó đi chỗ khác rồi8-X: )

Học theo tín chỉ (130 credits) trung bình mất 4 năm (nếu nhanh có thể chỉ mất 3 năm).
Đối với các môn bạn đã học ở đại học VN rồi thì có thể thi hoặc chuyển điểm và không phải học lại môn đó nữa.( các bạn đã ĐH

Thời gian: Hạn nạp hồ sơ là 31/10/2007. Kết quả được thông báo vào đầu tháng 12 qua email.
Có thể gửi bản scan sang để họ xét duyệt. Tuy nhiên hồ sơ vẫn cần phải sang đây trước hạn deadline.

Thời gian nhập học: 02/03/2008.
Ban tuyển chọn của trường sẽ chọn các ứng cử viên từ trên xuống.

Bây giờ các bạn có ý định nộp hồ sơ cho trường chuẩn bị là vừa, ai chưa có TA certs thì đi thi nhanh nhanh rồi còn lo điền đơn:D

Bên này những alumni sẽ giúp các bạn về thông tin :) rất chính xác và kịp thời :) các bạn app những trường ở sing thì có thể vào đây tham khảo, nếu theo diện ko được học bổng ;)) khuyến khích 03-06 và 04-07 nhé :)

Yup, KAIST có business adm nhưng là campus ở seoul xịn hơn ;) Ngoài ra ko có các ngành LA.:D

Như em app được, ko cần gap, vd: có một số bạn quốc tế khác( 89)vừa tốt nghiệp cấp 3 và app thành công vào trường kì xuân năm nay.
 
Theo anh nói là em phải thi tốt nghiệp và đến tháng 7-8 em mới biết kết quả tốt nghiệp còn bằng tốt nghiệp nữa chưa chắc đã lấy được ngay mà. Ah như anh nói phía trên han nộp hồ sơ năm nay là vào 31/10/2007 tức là sang năm cũng same same:D không biết có kịp không nữa :D Cho em hỏi thêm kì xuân là tính vào thời gian nào vậy anh? Mỗi năm có mấy kì nhập học :D

Chỉ cần bằng chứng nhận TN tạm thời thôi em.
Các năm có qui định deadline khác nhau, em lên check trên website của trường :)
Kì xuân tính từ tháng đầu tháng ba đến khoảng giữa tháng sáu, mỗi năm có hai kì nhập học là kì xuân và kì thu:)

Tớ đang ở VN.
Tiền học bổng cấp hàng tháng là khoảng 300$( hơn tí xíu vì qui đổi ra $ từ won) ko phải mất thêm tiền trừ phi cậu đi shopping.

No prob all friends, forum vnkaist dạo này hơi nhảm, các cậu vào đó đọc kĩ nhé, cũng có đủ info đấy, vào phần scholarship ấy rồi hỏi, ngoài tớ còn hơn chục bạn nữa sẵn sàng trả lời các cậu.

So với 2 kì trước, kì tới nếu em nào muốn apply trường thì cần có thêm SAT để tăng cơ hội. Tuy ko bắt buộc nhưng sẽ giúp đánh bại các applicants khác( tính cả bọn quốc tế), em nào có A-level cũng dùng được.

Bằng Ielts ở đây ko phổ biến lắm, và hình như bọn nó còn ko biết, nên giá trị dù điểm cao đến mấy cũng được xét kém tầm so với toefl :).

Cho em hỏi, thế thì lúc apply môn Toán sẽ là quan trọng nhất ah? Nó có interview cái j về toán k? Hay là bắt buộc điểm Toán phải cao hay cai j đấy 8-} Thx trước:D
 
@em Hằng: Kì vừa rồi nó xét theo tổng điểm Sat chứ ko chú trọng vào từng môn, có thể có interview qua điện thoại nhưng ko chắc sẽ hỏi về môn toán mà có thể chỉ hỏi về bản thân, sở thích, vv.. để kiểm tra xem em là người ntn mà người ta có thể cho học bổng.
Kì anh thì anh ko bị phỏng vấn nhưng đến trường cũng phải nói chuyện cả buổi với mấy người đó, nói chung họ vui tính lắm :) ( có vài đứa bị pv nhưng đều qua cả^^)

Mình vừa xem xong video clips về KAIST. Khuân viên trường KAIST đẹp và hiện đại không thua gì ở Mỹ :x Nếu chỉ cho mình xem ảnh mà không nói tên trường và không nhìn thấy nhiều học sinh Châu Á như vậy thì mình không thể biết được trường nằm tại Hàn Quốc (một phần cũng tại mình chưa đi Hàn Quốc bao giờ :"> )

Thực sự là trường rất đẹp và hiện đại :x

INFORMATION

1. What is KAIST ?
KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology - http://www.kaist.edu) is a public university belonging to the Korean Ministry of Science and Technology. KAIST offers different level of courses: undergraduate courses for Bachelor degree with 4-year-long initial study, and postgraduate courses for Master and Ph.D degrees, in all fields of engineering science. The degrees are accredited by the Korean Government, as well as by the most of international institutions and organizations.

Though relatively young, established in 1971, KAIST gained rapidly worldwide reputation, and is often regarded as one of the leading institutions of higher education for science and technology. KAIST is renowned not only by its high standard education but also by its high quality research outcomes.

KAIST counts about 7400 students - 2900 in undergraduate, and 4500 in graduate courses -, and the undergraduates have variety of choice to map out their future: further study for in-depth research works or thrusting themselves into professional life. The research works at KAIST are the top-of-the-range, and requires large number of qualified graduate students. This is why roughly 85% of undergraduate students are recruited for Master degree.

KAIST is located in Daedeok Science Town, the home to more than 60 government-supported and private research institutes, 4 universities, and hundreds of venture businesses. The Science Town is situated in the northern part of Daejeon, which is approximately 150km south of Seoul. Daejeon has a population of over 1.3 million citizens. 2. Why international students?
KAIST has an ambitious plan to build a Global Campus where students can pursuit their studies in order to meet the challenge of the globalization of the industrial world. 3. Academic Programs
Outstanding features of KAIST :
The undergraduate is nominally 4-year curriculum for Bachelor degree. The academic programs for undergraduate have specific features, such as

4. Campus Life:

5. Academic Calendar :
- Spring Semester : February 11 to May 15
- Summer Session : June 09 to August 15
- Fall Term : September 01 to December 19
- Winter Session : December 29 to January 30

6. Credit Requirement for Graduation
- The undergraduate students have to obtain a minimum of 130 credits for graduation (Bachelor’s degree). One credit corresponds 16 hours of classroom lecture.
- Early graduation through the accelerated program of study in less than 4 years is open to able students.

7. Tuition & Fees and Scholarship
Below table shows approximate costs, estimated on the basis of actual prices and exchange rate, for one year study in KAIST

Most of the above-mentioned costs can be covered by the scholarship whose amount and conditions are set prior to the enrolment. However, from the second year, the amount of scholarship may change according to the student’s academic performance of the previous year. For example, full exemption of tuition, PTF, and MI for students with GPA over 3.0, sliding proportional exemption for those with GPA between 3.0 to 2.0, but no exemption at all for bad performers. (GPA: Grade Point Average; 4.3 max.)

8. Eligibility Requirement :
Candidates will be considered without respect to race, color, religion, national origin, disability, or gender.
Admission to the KAIST International Undergraduate is merit- and capability- based and open to anyone who :
- has terminated or will terminate country’s secondary education, enabling him (her) to be enrolled in a higher education institution of science and technology.
- is able to begin the KAIST’s 2008 Spring academic program in Korea
- is able to receive and maintain a Korean D-2 visa
- is proficient in spoken and written English at the time of application
- paid the application fees of 100 USD

Cho em hỏi là Sinh viên Việt Nam sanh KAIST có được học Business không ạ? Vì trường này em thấy thiên về khoa học tự nhiên, Business thì em được bảo là chỉ cho sinh viên Hàn.
 
Business Administration có em a` :) nếu ko em chọn một ngành khác rồi có thể minor BA cũng được :|
 
chú minh có vẻ giàu quá nhỉ, học bổng nhiều thế cơ mà, nghỉ đông sang osaka chơi với anh
 
lớp 12 được app không anh nhỉ :-s em có IELTS và SAT 2 thôi , không có toefl và SAT 1
