This year, thousands of people around the world will get involved in Global Entrepreneurship Week (an initiative launched by the UK) from November 17th-23rd to celebrate business ideas around the world. VietAbroader’s community is full of bright and creative individuals so we have taken this opportunity to organize an essay contest on entrepreneurship.

Essay prompt:
“Vietnam’s economy is developing at a rapid pace, regularly achieving a GDP growth of 5-7% in the last ten years. This magnificent economic development can be attributed to “Doi Moi”, Vietnam’s economic reform beginning in 1986. Vietnam has opened up to the world, actively trading with other partners and inviting foreign investment. Moreover, “Doi Moi” has also allowed entrepreneurship to flourish in Vietnam by creating an environment suitable for entrepreneurs (rule of law, infrastructure, private property rights…).
Write an essay from 1-2 page(single space) presenting a business idea that you have for your town. Your essay will be judged based on originality, creativity, feasibility, and organization. Extra credit will be given to a business idea that contribute positively to society.
You also have another option to write an essay on any aspect of entrepreneurship, ie. its history, a famous entrepreneur in the world, a famous entrepreneurial model...”

Please send your essay to: [email protected] by 23: 59 PM on November 23rd, 2008 (Vietnam time).
Results will be announced on November 30th, 2008.

Prize:
1st place: 150 USD & 1 free English course at BELL Language Center & Recognition letter from VietAbroader.
2nd place: 100 USD & 1 free English course at BELL Language Center & Recognition letter from VietAbroader
3rd place: 50 USD & Recognition letter from VietAbroader

Làm bussiness mà phần quan trọng nhất lại TBA là dư lào? Mình chí thấy hứng thú nhất cái dòng đấy thôi, update sớm nhé.
 
Đấy tôi đã update về prizes rồi nhé. 150 USD là cũng phải 2 triệu rưởi tiền VN đây, các bạn nhào zo đi. Tớ cũng chơi, 0 làm ban giám khảo đợt này bởi cũng đang cần kiếm tiền :))
 
Mình nói thế thôi chứ trong đầu mình có cái léo gì đâu mà tham gia :p major của mình cũng chả phải Biz, Econ nên chỉ vào hóng hớt ném đá hội nghị thoai.
 
Đề tài có vẻ rộng nhỉ, cứ idea nào contribute to the economic development là được à, hay chỉ limit trong phạm vi vĩ mô entrepreneur, trading, commerce, etc...? Chẳng hạn như bán nước mía siêu sạch thì có coi là business idea không, vì nó là món nước rất dân tộc và đảm bảo vệ sinh hơn -> thu hút khách nước ngoài uống :-??

Mình bây giờ chỉ convert $150 ra Euro với cả GBP :p.


P.S: Deadline sớm mà thông báo muộn quá =.= đang đúng kỳ exam =.=

Bạn Phương và Tâm cứ tham gia đi. BGK xét theo ý tưởng chứ 0 xét về technicality hay là bạn viết hay hay dở thế nên cứ có ý tưởng hay thì viết. Ý tưởng của bạn Phương hoàn toàn có thể được coi là business idea nhưng phải elaborate ra thêm 1 tí... Profit sẽ thế nào, location, giờ bán...
