04/03/2003. Milan captain Paolo Maldini has revealed that he would have considered a move to Real Madrid earlier in his career.
"I've been here for 25 years but Real would have been the only other club that I would have left for," he told Spanish radio.
"Agreeing to join any other club apart from Real Madrid would have been taking a step backwards.
"I did speak with President Florentino Perez last summer but it was already too late in my career to make such a step. It's a shame because I like that white shirt."
