News:Applications Inviteations Invited for International Studio Scholarship 2004

The Stellwerk Zollverein e.V. organization is going to announce a studio scholarship for international artists for the first time in 2004. The scholarship includes a three to four month stay at the new World Cultural Heritage Stellwerk-tower Zollverein in Essen/Germany. The motto of the first announcement will be: Breaking new grounds.

Under an intercultural perspective it is expected, that the artist will consider their own socio-cultural background in relation to the existing local conditions in their work. A connection between the artistic work and general social, economic, political, historical, geographical or religious questions is therefore particularly wanted. Candidates need to be free lance foreign artists of any age, not situated or working in Germany. Art forms such as sculpture, object art, installation art, painting, drawing, graphic art and photography will be supported. Application deadline is 15 May 2004.
