I met Trinh Mai Trang the first time by chance in the music show "Rendevouz 2004" of the London School of Economic 's students association right in the late night 20th of November . I was really impressed by this small looking girl but full of talent. I think you also would.

Trang started learning to play the piano when she was only 4, and then 9 years in the College of Art (and Music) of Ha Noi. In 2 years 1996-1997 she both got two first-awards for Young Talents of the College, and is also the youngest to get awards. In 2000, she was honourably a presentative for young Vietnameses to attend the Festival of Art and Music for World Youth which was held in Thien Tan city, China. The 15-day-trip gave her so much happiness, new friends and new experience. Everything could have changed when 2 years ago, 17 years old, Trang went to UK to study in Warminster Boarding School with a 50% scholarship in Business subject. Luckily, Trang met the teacher couple,Mrs Hillary Clinton Mr Christopher Clinton( Director of Keyboard department of Royal Academy of Music - RAM). Being taught by two excellent pianists-teachers in 6 months,Trang applied the entry exam to RAM. RAM is seemed to be the 2nd best music school of the world, after Julliard (America), and Tchaikovski(Russia) is considered the third one.She got an offer to get in as the first and also the youngest Vietnamese has ever been accepted to study the bachelor degree among only 16 students that year.

Looking at my small friend with sparkling eyes I keep wonder what helps her to achieve such admirable results. I must tell you more about her academic study. The first year in Warminster school, she got 'satisfactory' AAB.When she was a student of Tran Phu high school, Trang also got a Second-place for the City History competiton, a second-place for Biology subject and a first-place for Literature subject.

As being a student of one of the best reputation and highest requirement academies, her study demands passion, challenge and practice normally 8-10h a day.Trang is always strict with herself by setting rules and targets she wants to get to. She said she will never forget the time in her College of Art in HN, she would have given up music many times if her teacher-lecturer Mrs Mai Thu Thuy had not always encouraged her to continue on the chalenging road of music. She always says she's a very very lucky person to get all these, but I know it's her love and passion for music have done all.

One thing that really makes me feel she's a special friend is when she told me about her dream in the future. Trang said that after finishing degree, she wants to come back to Viet Nam, open a music school for children, ask her friends in RAM to help her to teach her students, to take Vietnamese students abroad to study music. She said that dream arises because she has had many difficulties in studying music without support. As our students has too many disadvantages to tough and understand music correctly as it should, she really wants to do something to develop Vietnamese music education by her experience and love for music.

New Year eve, listening to a song that Trang composed by herself, I was thinking, what if all our nice dreams can become true. All the dreams that we,the new generation students have, and keep them as incentives to try more and more to achieve better results. It would be the near future when we can use our dreams to develop our country side by side with developed countried, there'll be no poor people that don't even have food to feed their children,no disable children that their parents can not even buy them a wheelchair to move, and a better quality of life for our people.I just feel some excited feeling that we can do,or even just try to do something to make other's life better. I believe that it's the common feeling of all the students with ambition and charitableness, to do more than for themselves but the country we belong to.

oh, I've just found some mistakes from sis Trang's rewrite one. Sorry cause last time I read it but past throuhg.. u got the same mistakes as when this article was posted on ANTD newspaper, which made me got so many troubles to explain and say sorry to TRang' friends and family..

First is She's not the first Vnese student of RAM. As I tried to use a trick to make it unclear there. There was 1 man studied there quite long time ago. He's a very kind man who 've helped and encouraged Trang so much.As I know, he's workin at BBC .
SEcond one, Please don't say that RAM is the second , or Julliard is first, and same with Tchaikovski, as I used 'considered ', and 'seem' because of the reason that all this ranking is not offical.....even when comparing Oxford and Cambridge , you can not say which one is better , right? especially these are music and art schools.

Please help me to edit it as it should be. Thank you so much. 'cause I don't want to repeat the mistakes again....horrible experience...thanx...:x
