ridiculous as it is, this show is quite popular now. Maybe i'm harsh but this show really bothers me. so there are 14 contestants trying to win a year living as a Hilton.

firstly, i feel bad for those contestants. if the name of the contest were simply something to win money, it wouldn't be a problem. but that "to be a Hilton" sounds to me as if those people are trying to get a stand in the world of wealthy people by trading their identities. one of them even said "I want to have a GOOD life," or they don't like the blue-collared life. so the definition of good life is a lot of money. i wonder if the winner after 1 year living as such a rich person would be able to adapt to his/her previous lifestyle. will other aristocratical people look at a used-to-be pizza man differently? i don't blame them since some of them have noble motivation such as to help their parents or to get her son through college. rather, i blame Kathy Hilton.

yes, she keeps emphasizing how well-behaved the Hiltons are. excuse me, look at Paris with her wild obscene life. should she be ashamed to praise her family's lifestyle that way?

what do you guys think?

I havent watched the show to see how hilarious it can be, but i primarily disagree that those contestants have to "trade their indentities" (? does that mean that the Hiltons will be pizza delivery people, and the pizza men become the Hiltons?)
You can't say your definition of a good life without materialistic conditions is standard. I believe those contestants truely know lots about the Hiltons, Paris specifically, to themselves believe in the Hiltons' ideals (which may contain materialism). I myself admire their hotel biz, and would love to live a year as Paris Hilton, i.e. party wild, make love with a hot greek (?) husband, have a hot body, and wear GUess, hehe ;)

About the def. of a good life, i'm too young to make a statement. maybe i'm idealistic, maybe i haven't thought it through but to me merely good materialistic conditions don't make up a good life ;). when i first saw the preview of the show, i was like "gosh, what's wrong with the world?" :p
@ Khanh: can i rephrase ur question a bit? "who doesn't want a slut?" "love" is a luxurious word in ur case.

btw, does anyone else besides me hate the part when the losing team has to sit down and bitch about each other?

dunno y but i think the US has produced a plenty of dumb shows, its just so fake,.. and i cant be bothered to watch... like theres a show about 2 mothers saying another guy was her child's father and stuff like that, and the show was to find the truth,... I dunno, it sounds reasonable, but i found it fake so much. also, i know a show abt dr.phil (sp?), he helped people getting out of their obsession and come back to their lives or smth like that.. but during such a short period of time, that is not convincing at all.

btw: i've never seen that "hiton" show so i hv no clue

I have heard about Hilton much. But i haven't heard about that contest. Just only Americans can organize such a strange competition.

Paris Hilton, she is so beautiful but her lifestyle make me disgust her. Have you ever seen her sexual films ????
 
well, she's da bomb but to be fair, her face w/o makeup is not that pretty :D
 
@ My: she's a Guess model... that does not equal her wearing Guess. Guess is pretty decent stuff, but it's no Chanel nor LV.
 
If we discuss more about her, it will make her happier. A woman can upload my private sexual films into Internet to gain more unreal fame. The more scandals she has had ,the more well-known she is. That's one of the way that many untalented actress to access curious fans.
