POSTPONED Birmingham v Wolves, Cheltenham v Doncaster, Histon v Swansea, Leyton Orient v Sheff Utd
1141: Now I know exactly what some of you may be thinking: why isn't my team's tie at the top of this page? Well, that's because I have not yet developed fingers faster than the speed of light - but trust me, I am working on it. In the mean time, you'll have to settle for goalflashes on selected 3pm ties. But don't panic, I'll also be providing regular updates from the others, with the help of my glamorous assistant, BBC Sport's very own Mr FA Cup, Chris Bevan.
1145: Right about now, the referee is inspecting the pitch at St Andrews, where a frosty pitch threatens Birmingham v Wolves.
1154: This year's third-round draw didn't have its romantic hat on... although I'm not sure if cup draws wear hats, romantic or otherwise. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that only two of the eight non-league sides drew top-flight opposition. Blyth Spartans host Blackburn on Monday, while Barrow travel to Middlesbrough at 1500 GMT today. Boro have not been knocked out by a non-league side since 1912 - when they were beaten by minnows West Ham.
1159: Boo to you Jack Frost. The big derby between Birmingham v Wolves is postponed because of a frozen pitch, while Histon v Swansea has gone as well...
1204: Barrow will be taking 7,000 fans to the Riverside today. Remarkable. The Bluebirds have not reached the fourth round in their 104-year history, and this is their first appearance in round three since 1991.
1212: Referee Phil Crossley explains his decision to postpone the Histon-Swansea tie, which will now be played on Tuesday, 13 January. "I can understand everybody's disappointment but I had to make an independent decision. I wanted the game to be played but given the conditions I couldn't guarantee the players' safety, which is of paramount importance."
1216: Had a few texts wondering why Birmingham don't have under-soil heating. It does seem odd, given they were in the Premier League last season. That game will also be played on Tuesday 13 January I think.
1218: For those of you tipping Plymouth for a Cupset against Arsenal, hear this: the Gunners have never been knocked out of the FA Cup by lower-league opposition with Arsene Wenger at the helm, while the Pilgrims have not beaten a top-flight side in the FA Cup since 1984.
1225: Macclesfield confirm that their game against Everton definitely goes ahead. Toffees boss David Moyes might not be best pleased about that. He has a miserable FA Cup record, winning four ties in five years and losing in the third round the last two years.
1234:
TEAMS Hartlepool v Stoke
Hartlepool: Lee-Barrett, Sweeney, Nelson, Collins, Humphreys, Jones, Liddle, Clark, Robson, Mackay, Porter. Subs: Budtz, McCunnie, Monkhouse, Power, Foley, Rowell, Tait.
Stoke: Simonsen, Davies, Shawcross, Sonko, Dickinson, Soares, Olofinjana, Whelan, Tonge, Delap, Pericard. Subs: Sorensen, Higginbotham, Lawrence, Kitson, Diao, Abdoulaye Faye, Wilkinson.
1236: It's a weakened side from Stoke boss Tony Pulis: Thomas Sorensen, Danny Higginbotham and Danny Pugh all dropping out. Ricardo Fuller and Richard Cresswell are suspended, while Andy Griffin and Amdy Faye are injured so seven changes in all by Pulis.
1242: Hartlepool have a bit of giantkilling form. They defeated Premier League side Crystal Palace in 1992-3, thanks to an Andy Saville penalty. Their current side is a bit leaky at the back, conceding seven goals in the last two league games.
1255: Stoke reached the fifth round in 2006, the fourth round in 2007 and the third round in 2008. Don't fancy their chances of getting past the second round this year...
1304: Bless all of you for texting and 606-ing. I did actually realise Stoke are in the third round (see 1255). I am a girl, but I am not that bad.
1309: Testing corner from Hartlepool and Vincent Pericard's attempted defensive header drifts dangerously towards goal before Andrew Davies heads away.
1312: Big Phil Scolari will get his first taste of the FA Cup later as Chelsea host League One Southend. The Blues are looking to equal their club record of 11 successive seasons in the fourth round. By contrast, the Shrimpers have reached the fourth round once in 15 seasons.
1317: Hartlepool are forced into an early change, as defender Antony Sweeney limps off to be replaced by Jamie McCunnie.
1322: And while we're on the subject of frozen pitches, if you're off to Brisbane Road for Leyton Orient v Sheff Utd, you're in for disappointment because that one's gone too.
1330: Doesn't seem to be much happening at Victoria Park so I'll continue to bombard you with FA Cup facts. Forest Green v Derby is one of four Blue Square Premier v Championship ties. Rovers are in the third round for the first time in their 118-year history. They face a managerless side, who have won two in 10 games.
1334: Hartlepool have to make a second change before half-time. Michael Mackay, who is only just back after illness, is replaced by David Foley. Mackay scored twice in Pools' 3-2 win against Fleetwood Town in the last round.
1347: Manchester City v Nottingham Forest pits four-times winners against twice winners of the FA Cup. City boss Mark Hughes was the only player to pick up four FA Cup winners' medals in the 20th century. That's all.
1347:
HALF-TIME Hartlepool 0-0 Stoke
1356: On to Hull v Newcastle, one of three all-Prem ties. Hull have fallen at the first hurdle in five of the last six years, including third-round defeats in each of the last three years. Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear has an FA Cup winners' medal from Tottenham's 2-1 win over Chelsea in 1967.
1403: They're back up and running at Victoria Park.
1406: Former England wicketkeeper and huge Forest Green fan Jack Russell has been on BBC Radio 5 Live talking about Rovers' chances against Derby today. He is more concerned about the frost at one end of the New Lawn pitch than any threat the Rams might pose but he can rest easy - the game will go ahead. Russell may be best known for his cricket skills but he also worked as Rovers' goalkeeping coach a couple of years ago. "Deep down, I always wanted to be a goalkeeper, not a wicketkeeper," he says.
1406:
GOAL Hartlepool 1-0 Stoke
The hosts win a free-kick as midfielder
Matty Robson tangles with Andrew Davies. Robson delivers and Michael Nelson thumps a header into the bottom corner to put the League One side ahead against their Premier League opposition.
1417: Rest easy, BBC 5 Live host Mark Pougatch is almost at Rockingham Road for Kettering v Eastwood Town, the only all-non-league tie. The hosts are in the the third round for the first time since 1991-2. Eastwood are in uncharted territory. They beat Wycombe in the last round, a team which was the only undefeated team in the Football League at the time.
1419: Wayne Rooney's little brother John is on the bench for Macclesfield against Everton, who field a strong side. The only change from the win over Sunderland is Victor Anichebe for Marouane Fellaini.
1426: Sheffield Wednesday host Fulham in one of seven Championship v Premier League ties. The Owls have not won an FA Cup tie for five years, and have not beaten a top-flight side in the competition for 16 years. Fulham have been knocked out of the third round in two of the last three years.
1428: News from the Emirates Stadium. Lukasz Fabianski makes a rare start in goal for Arsenal against Plymouth and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger also gives starts to Aaron Ramsey and Robin van Persie. Argyle give a debut to David Gray in defence - that's their on-loan Manchester United defender, not the bloke who sang 'Babylon'.
1430: Shortly after careering into the Hartlepool dug-out, Andrew Davies has to come off for Stoke, replaced by Andy Wilkinson. About 20 minutes remaining.
1432: Four changes for Sunderland, who face fellow Prem side Bolton. Pascal Chimbonda, El-Hadji Diouf and Carlos Edwards all come into the starting line-up and Anton Ferdinand returns from illness. Bolton make just one change, with Fabrice Muamba replacing the suspended Gavin McCann.
1433:
GOAL Hartlepool 2-0 Stoke
Feeling the magic yet?
David Foley, a first-half substitute, scores with a 30-yard screamer to put the Monkey Hangers on the verge of our first Cupset.
1435: Elano starts in midfield for Manchester City against Notttingham Forest despite reports in Italy linking him with a move to Lazio but fellow Brazilian Robinho and Stephen Ireland will both sit this one out. Caretaker manager John Pemberton takes charge of Nottingham Forest for the final time - new boss Billy Davies will watch this one from the stands before taking charge on Monday.
1437: Petr Cech is rested for Chelsea while Didier Drogba starts up front in place of Nicolas Anelka. Ricardo Carvalho makes his first start since October in a pretty strong side from Luiz Felipe Scolari.
1443: Football moves quickly these days. City have completed the signing of Wayne Bridge - for a reported £10m. Seems a lot to me. Anyway, Stoke have less than five minutes to salvage a replay...
1447: Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate makes six changes to the team which narrowly lost to Manchester United, but the likes of Stewart Downing, Mido and Jeremie Aliadiere play in a strongish looking line-up for the visit of Barrow.
1449: West Ham captain Lucas Neill, who is rumoured to be a target for former club Blackburn, is missing from the line-up to face Barnsley, although it could be explained by the ankle injury that kept him out against Stoke. And Kieron Dyer is on the bench, having last played in August 2007 when he broke his leg at Bristol Rovers.
1451:
FULL-TIME Hartlepool 2-0 Stoke
1455: A bit of interesting team news from the all-Premier League tie at the KC Stadium, where Hull host Newcastle. Magpies goalkeeper Shay Given appears desperate to move on this month but that does not stop boss Joe Kinnear from picking him here, while Andy Carroll makes his first start of the season and partners Michael Owen up front. Hull boss Phil Brown makes seven changes from the side that lost to Aston Villa on Tuesday with goalkeeper Matt Duke, defender Nathan Doyle and winger Stelios - who between them have made five appearances for the Tigers this season - among those who come in.
Kinnear rules out Given departure
1458: Here's Manchester City boss Mark Hughes speaking about his new signing Wayne Bridge, who has just sealed his move from Chelsea. "He's of the right quality and he's the type of player we need to attract. We need good players that understand this league and we'll look to carry on in that way and add more if we can."
1459: Hartlepool reach the fourth round for only the second time in their history - and have they set the tone for third-round day? Let's hope so. The fourth-round draw, by the way, is at around 1525 GMT tomorrow.
1503: Right then, hold onto your hats, we're getting under way around the grounds.
1505: Macclesfield have an early chance against Everton, Terry Dunfield shooting into the stands from the edge of the box.
1509: Nathan Tyson's cross finds Lewis McGugan unmarked at the far post but the Forest man spurns the chance to put his side ahead against Manchester City.
1511:
GOAL West Ham 1-0 Barnsley
Defender
Herita Ilunga has time to control Mark Noble's free-kick at the far post before side-footing in his first goal for the club.
1514:
GOAL Forest Green 1-0 Derby
We could have an upset on the cards at the New Lawn. A fantastic 25-yard strike by Forest Green midfielder
Jonathan Smith flies past Derby goalkeeper Roy Carroll and into the top corner of the net. That's four goals in six games for Smith - and it spells trouble for the managerless Rams.
1515:
GOAL Sheff Wed 0-1 Fulham
Andrew Johnson taps in from close range to put the Premier League side ahead.
1518: Shortly before that flurry of goals, Nat Brown squandered a glorious chance to put Macclesfield ahead against Everton, heading over after a well-worked free-kick.
1520:
GOAL Forest Green 2-0 Derby
Alex Lawless catches the Derby defence napping, running in behind to beat Roy Carroll at his near post. Great warm-up for Derby, who face Manchester United in the Carling Cup semis on Wednesday.
1523:
GOAL Sheff Wed 1-1 Fulham
Terrific equaliser from the Championship side.
Tommy Spurr scores with a swerving effort from 25 yards, the movement in the air beating Mark Schwarzer.
1525:
GOAL Middlesbrough 1-0 Barrow
Middlesbrough have not won at the Riverside since beating Manchester City at the end of October but they have just gone ahead against Blue Square Premier side Barrow.
Afonso Alves beats the offside trap and calmly slots home for his first goal since that win over City.
1526: Elsewhere, London-based FA Cup fans, Jonjo Shelvey has put Charlton 1-0 up against Norwich. Earlier, Dennis Lawrence gave Crewe the lead at Millwall.
1527:
GOAL Kettering 1-0 Eastwood Town
Craig Westcarr smashes a volley into the top of the net from six yards out after good work from Richard Graham on the wing.
1531: More woe for Arsenal. Defender Mikael Silvestre limps off to be replaced by Kieran Gibbs.
1532:
GOAL Chelsea 1-0 Southend
No sign of drama at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard crosses from a corner and
Salomon Kalou heads, unchallenged, into the Southend net. That goal had been coming.
1535: It's been a scrappy opening half hour at the Stadium of Light, with Sunderland coming closest to a breakthrough when El-Hadji Diouf's corner was cleared off the line by Ricardo Gardner.
1537: Darren Ferguson's Peterborough side are proving tough nuts for West Brom to crack and Baggies keeper Scott Carson has had to be on his toes, while Craig Mackail-Smith hit the woodwork for the League One side.
1539: Hmmm, things are certainly going well so far for non-league sides playing managerless Championship clubs. Forest Green are leading Derby and now Torquay are ahead against Blackpool too after Gulls striker Matthew Green latches on to a long ball and fires home from the edge of the box.
1539:
GOAL West Ham 2-0 Barnsley
Mark Noble is clipped by Mounir El Haimour - who is booked - and the midfielder picks himself up to convert the penalty. Doesn't look like Barnsley will be repeating their 2007-8 heroics.
1541:
GOAL Man City 0-1 Nottm Forest
As you've probably heard, Manchester City have signed Wayne Bridge today. It looks like they could do with a few more new players too as they have just gone behind to Championship strugglers Nottingham Forest. Micah Richards fails to deal with a long ball and
Nathan Tyson fires home an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box.
1541:
GOAL Forest Green 2-1 Derby
Rob Hulse heads in from close range and the Championship side are very much back in the game.
1543:
GOAL Man City 0-2 Nottm Forest
Blimey. Good work by Chris Cohen on the left, he squares to Matt Thornhill whose misdirected shot is turned in by
Rob Earnshaw.
1545:
GOAL Macclesfield 0-1 Everton
Leon Osman opens the scoring with a stunning half-volley which smashes into the top corner of the net off the underside of the crossbar.
1546:
GOAL Forest Green 2-2 Derby
Er, suddenly things are not looking quite so rosy for Forest Green at the New Lawn.
Martin Albrechtsen gets the final touch after an almighty goalmouth scramble and, right on half-time, Derby are level.
1547: And the goals are flying in now. Millwall have levelled against Crewe thanks to Marc Laird.
1550: It's quite literally a total turnaround at the New Den. Andy Frampton's scored, that's two goals in five minutes and now Millwall are 2-1 up against Crewe.
1552: Boos for Manchester City at half-time. Not surprising really. There are 28 places between them and Nottingham Forest, and an even bigger gulf in bank balances.
1557: At half-time, Nottingham Forest and Torquay are the only clubs to be leading against sides in higher leagues - but there are plenty of Cupset possibilities elsewhere, not least at the Emirates where Plymouth are holding Arsenal.
1605:
GOAL Arsenal 1-0 Plymouth
Stand-in skipper
Robin van Persie pops up with the goal, heading in from close range after Samir Nasri's corner. Relief all round at the Emirates.
1608: We're pretty much back under way around the grounds now.
1609:
GOAL Arsenal 2-0 Plymouth
Captain fantastic Robin van Persie turns provider, crossing for the much-loved
Nicklas Bendtner to turn in the Gunners' second.
1611:
GOAL Arsenal 2-1 Plymouth
They're gone goal-crazy in north London.
Karl Duguid pulls one back from debutant David Gray's free-kick. Game on again.
1615: A flicked header by Kenwyne Jones almost gives Sunderland an early second-half goal but Ricardo Gardner again comes to Bolton's rescue when he clears off the line for the second time.
1615: Barnsley's best chance so far - a shot from Diego Leon wide on the right which is turned onto the post by Robert Green, and the West Ham keeper does well to block the follow-up shot for a corner.
1615:
GOAL Sunderland 1-0 Bolton
Kieran Richardson delivers the free-kick,
Kenwyne Jones heads in. Sunderland looking to avoid a third straight third-round defeat.
1615:
GOAL Coventry 1-0 Kidderminster
Coventry settle the nerves against Kidderminster,
Leon McKenzie puts the Championship side ahead.
1619: Elsewhere,
Ipswich are in control against Chesterfield after scoring two goals inside three minutes. Jon Walters broke the deadlock from the spot after a handball by Phil Picken and Pablo Counago doubled their advantage soon after. And
Cardiff are ahead too, against fellow Championship high-flyers Reading, thanks to a Ross McCormack header from Roger Johnson's cross.

Lee Harper.

1624: Pure poetry from Crewe's Danny Shelley, as his sweetly-struck free-kick makes it Millwall 2-2 Crewe.
1625:
GOAL Sunderland 2-0 Bolton
Sunderland double their advantage through striker
Djibril Cisse, who does well to volley home after good work from Carlos Edwards.
1629: Happy days Hornets fans. Grzegorz Rasiak gives Watford the lead against League One Scunthorpe.
1630:
GOAL Forest Green 3-2 Derby
Forest Green are back in front against Derby after
Paul Stonehouse finds the bottom corner with a shot from the edge of the box.
1631:
GOAL West Ham 3-0 Barnsley
Herita Ilunga crosses for
Carlton Cole to head in his third goal in as many matches. That's the cue for Kieron Dyer to come on to make his first appearance since August 2007.
1634: Manchester City have thrown on their less than prolific striker Jo to try to find a way to reduce the deficit against Nottingham Forest. He's just had a gilt-edged chance too, with the ball dropping to him inside the six-yard box, but his shot is blocked and City still trail 2-0.
1634:
GOAL Forest Green 3-3 Derby
Hold on to your hats -
Paul Green levels for the Rams. He is in the right place when a ball is flicked on inside the area and blasts home from close range.
1634:
GOAL Man City 0-3 Nottm Forest
There's your story of the day.
Joe Garner has been on the pitch for less than a minute when he latches on to a wayward throw-in by Didi Hamman and drives the ball past Joe Hart. The home fans are off.
1637: All square at The Valley, as Arturo Lupoli scores a
Norwich equaliser which makes it 1-1 against Charlton - and possibly eases the pressure on Glenn Roeder.
1637:
GOAL Sunderland 2-1 Bolton
Ebi Smolarek makes it an interesting final 11 minutes at the Stadium of Light. The substitute gets his first for the club when his effort looks to take a deflection and loops over Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop.
1640: Joe Ledley makes it 2-0 to
Cardiff against Reading. Ledley supposedly attracting a bit of Premier League interest in this transfer window.
1642:
GOAL Middlesbrough 2-1 Barrow
1643:
GOAL Arsenal 3-1 Plymouth
Roman Larrieu keeps out
Robin van Persie's first effort but not the second and that's job done for the Gunners you'd think.
1643:

GOAL Sheff Wed 1-2 Fulham
Andrew Johnson takes advantage of a tiring Sheffield Wednesday defence to put the Premier League side ahead with a couple of minutes remaining.
1651:
GOAL Chelsea 1-1 Southend
Wow. Where were Chelsea? Luiz Felipe Scolari's side have not been able to finish off Southend and
Peter Clarke pops up unmarked in the box to head home an injury-time leveller for the Shrimpers. Clarke turns 27 today by the way - happy birthday!
1652: The full-time whistle goes at Eastlands and Manchester City are dumped out by struggling Championship side Nottingham Forest.
1653:
Ipswich are now out of sight against Chesterfield - Jon Stead has just put them 3-0 up. The Spireites had a reprieve when Droylsden were thrown out of the Cup after beating them in the second round but there doesn't seem any way back for them now.
1656: Luiz Felipe Scolari's Chelsea must travel to Roots Hall for a replay after Peter Clarke's late, late leveller for Southend. West Brom face a replay against Peterborough.
1658: Non-league
Torquay defeat Championship Blackpool, the two teams separated by 60 places. Matt Green is the hosts' hero.
1700: Full-time pretty much everywhere now and what a gripping afternoon it has been - from Manchester City's humiliation at the hands of Nottingham Forest to Forest Green's seven-goal thriller against Derby to Southend's stunning 1-1 draw at Chelsea.
