Dear Friends,

This is Hòa Trịnh, an Amser of Hoa 1, 92-95. I am helping the Vietnam Book Drive Project in collecting textbooks and research materials written in English from professors and students across many US campuses and sending them back to universities in Vietnam. I am asking you to get involved in the project if you think this is a good action we can take together for our fellows in Vietnam. Please let us know if you are interested in being a project representative at your school (US, UK or elsewhere) and helping us to deliver the call for book donations.

Please click on the herein hyperlinks to the Call for book donations and the Campaign poster 2008 for your downloads and do help to distribute them at your campus. The pdf file of the project poster is an interactive version in which you could type your contact details if needed. Please tailor those as you like to better reach out more people who may be interesting in helping students in Vietnam.

Please email us at [email protected] for your further questions.

Thank you very much for your support and time.

CALL FOR BOOK DONATIONS
Textbooks for students in need in Vietnam

Dear Friends,

We are sending you this message to call for your donations of books for students in Vietnam, on behalf of the Vietnam Education Foundation Fellows Association (VEFFA). VEFFA is a non-profit organization of Vietnamese students in the US and currently running a nation-wide campaign across universities to collect new and used books and send them to Vietnam. We partner with the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF), Hanoi University of Technology (HUT) of Hanoi, Vinh University (VU) in Vinh City of Nghe An province in Vietnam and several other non-profit and educational organizations to build an effective collaborative network for the outreach and implementation of the project. Starting last Fall, the project’s 2007 Book Drive Campaign gratefully received monetary donations from VEF, the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States and other individuals and book donations from professors and students of 30 campuses in the US. The monetary donations helped the project to send the first shipment of donated books and research materials to Vietnam in January 2008. In the following June, Hanoi University of Technology and VEFFA officially opened the joint HUT-VEFFA library at HUT to public with the first 888 books received from the project. To continue building up resources for the HUT-VEFFA library and to open the VinhUni-VEFFA library at Vinh University in 2009, we are announcing the launch of the 2008 Vietnam Book Drive Campaign. The campaign will run through out 2008 with aims to collect and send 5,000 textbooks to the two mentioned libraries in Vietnam. We need your strong support to make this year campaign a success. Your donations will help make a difference in the path to excellence of talented Vietnamese students who will take leading roles in advancing the country’s science and technology. Please visit the project website at www.veffa.org/vnbookdrive for further information on the project.
