“I want to inspire tourists with Hanoi spirits”. The idea from Linh, a senior student from Hanoi-Amsterdam High school, has evoked the latent love of many members in her online communityat www.hn-ams.org (H-A-O). After many discussions, and idea developments with other members from H-A-O, and with a great help from Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nghia, director of Vietnam International Trading and Travel Company, HelloHanoi was found on October 10, 2006, as a non-profit organization.
HelloHanoi, with about 30 members, is ready to volunteer helping tourists to discover the beauty of Hanoi, from well-known places to little corners. You will have great time experiencing local views and normal life that no travel agency can offer, for free.
After two months of operation, HelloHanoi volunteers have greeted more than 100 guests from 15 different countries. Each and every volunteer’s creative ideas make our program full of interesting activities: online advice every second, city tour everyday, cooking class every week and warming party every month. The final goal, as stated above, is to inspire tourists with Hanoi spirits and what they yearn for. Mr. Nghia, director of the program, has shared a lot of his professional knowledge in fields such as hotels, transportation, personnel management, as well as funding the organization’s operation. And the volunteers, in reciprocal, exert themselves to be a new dynamic Vietnamese generation, is able to deal with each and every task assigned effectively.
