I don't understand

I don't understand
why the moon comes out at night
or stars are my guiding light
or when you with me
everything seems so right.

But most of all
I do not understand
why people leave each other hearts to die
they don't care even if they cry
they just turn around
and walk right out the door
they always say they won't look back anymore

What I understand most
is that love is there or it's not
it otherwise cold or it's hot
and when it's gone try not to cry
just swallow hard and say Goodbye.
