We’ve got TOEFL, we’ve got IELTS, so how about the “awesome” SAT I and II. Pros, help us tyros, please! (Advice, sources of books…, everything is priceless)
To do well on SAT, you should practice doing it at home. I don't know if there is "10 Real SAT" in VN but this book is very useful for SAT-taker. It helps you know what to expect in the test. Reading a lot of magazines like New York Times.... on line will helps, too.
I bought my "10 Real SATs" from a book shop on Ba Trieu Str. They don't have it on the show case and you have to ask for it. It's the most important book for SAT learner. Besides, you can check out Barron's (can easily be found in Hanoi), Kaplan's, and Princeton Review's (I myself prefer Princeton Review's). You can also download one or two sample tests from the College Board website. There's also a SAT word list posted in this box (or the Study Abroad box) that I found very efficient.
Seem that we don't have many choices to choose from (sigh...)
How about other sources? CD-rooms for example?
I've got about 5 months preparing for SAT (5 months only!). How many words/day do u suggest I should try to digest?
5 moths is not such a long time ahead, but if you are my friend( i'm not sure cuz she's 02-05 not 01-04) . I think it's enough. you just have to focus on Verbal section, for Maths, you don't need to concern about it at all( just your brain is enough)
Look luck with your next 5 months
No wonder!!! I couldn't think of anybody named Lan in the class "Hóa A 01-04" that I know of. If you spend time "lượn lờ" Bà Triệu Str., you may find some good stuffs. Some of the bookshops there may have SAT CDs, if you ask for them. Summer is coming, so try 20 words a day on a regular basis.
