Subject: H-A-O - Students help children with heart defects

The following message was sent to you via the H-A-O Contact Us form by Vernon Chaplin.

--------------------------------

I work for the East Meets West Foundation (www.eastmeetswest.org) - a charity that raises money to provide life-saving surgery for poor children with heart defects. Often international schools in Vietnam help us raise money for a sick child, and after the child has surgery we bring him or her to meet the students. I was recently in Hanoi working on a program called Hoops for Hearts at the United Nations International School (UNIS). A teacher at this school suggested that I contact Hanoi Amsterdam High School, since it is one of the very best Vietnamese schools and the students would be able to do an excellent job helping children in need of surgery.

I will be in Hanoi again next Monday and Tuesday (24-25 March), and I would like to come talk to someone at Hanoi Amsterdam school about the possibility of doing an activity with East Meets West. We have materials in written in Vietnamese to give to the students, but I would need to meet with someone who can speak English. I spoke on the phone with vice-principal Do Ba Khoi, but my Vietnamese is not very good.

Would you be willing to help me set up a meeting? This program can be a great thing for the school--generating positive publicity and teaching students about generosity and compassion. Thank you so much for your help--please email me at vernon.chaplin@gmail.
