this is a very very interesting math stuff, so i post it here for all of u to try it, absolutely cool,hi, sure u'll like it

You have:::
three boxes, each containing two balls,
one containing a black pair: one , a white pair,
and the third, one white ball and one black ball
.On each box :::
are pictures of two balls - either two black
ones, two white ones, or one white and one black
.You are told that :::
the markings on the boxes are all wrong.
You are asked to ascertain the colours of the balls contained
in each box.

WHich of the following statements can be infered from the above????

(A)you can take one ball from the box marked with two black balls and, without
looking at the second ball , know that what each box actually contains.

(B)You can take out one ball from the box marked with two white balls and, without looking at the second ball, know what each box actually contains

(C)You can take out one ball from the box marked with one with one white ball and one black ball and, without looking at the second ball , know what each box actually contains.

(D) You can know which balls are contained in which box until you take a ball out of more than one box.

(E)You can not know which boxes contain which colour balls untill u take a ball out of all three boxes

let's post ur answers here so we can discuss a little bit , goodluck!!

IMHO, c is right.
If u know the correct marking on any box, problems solved.
In a or b, whichever colour u pick, black or white, it's impossible to tell if that box is of 1 colour or mixed. Each case has different result.
In c, whichever type of ball pick, the 'supposed to be mix' box can only contain balls with that colour, therefore u can work out the actual marking.
d,e are not even taken into consideration :D

It should be rectified like this:
In a or b, if the ball u pick turns out to have the different colour from the one in the pic, its impossible to tell if that box is of 1 colour or mixed. Then .........
My bad. :D
Or may be im wrong, anyone with other ideas?

the best golfer is a black guy,
the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese,
the Swiss hold the America's Cup,
France is accusing the US of arrogance,
Germany doesn't want to go to war,
and the 3 most powerful men in America
are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colin'!"

Yeah, u got it right, son
The first time I did this, I got it right ,too, but in a this clumsy way(hihi, hope u don’t laught at me)
I see that a and b are totally contrast to each other, thus, if a is right, why can’t b (because there is only one right choice) therefore, I ruled out both a and b(this is called “mo co khoa hoc” hehe )
Then, as u said, d and e are not even taken into consideration, so c is there to be chosed ,a little bit clumsy, hah?

Anyway, I wonder how can GMAT takers handle this in less than 1,5 minutes , and nearly 180 such tough ones each exam.
What r u ‘bout to say : my bad…. Ur explanation is quite clear at first, then, u wanted to make it more clearly by going round and round, then got
stuck at the first point, hihi , u ought to think of any careers but teaching
anyway, u r very intelligent :D:D:D:D
